The first public meeting on hearing awareness was conducted on the 18th of August 2013. The event was organised by Medcon Hearing Care Center - MHCC as a company CSR project.

 

The event brought in a crowd of 120 people with hearing disabilities. The event was inaugurated by Dr.S.B.Etulgama (ENT surgeon at Peradeniya Srimavo Bandaranayake Specialised Children Hospital), Dr.Etulgama has performed more than 50 MED-EL implant surgeries. Also, Dr.Etulgama and our team of audiologist provided the public with the understanding of hearing and on the outcome of using MED-EL Cochlear Implants.
